27 March 2020 COVID-19 Update

Parent Update: Primary School and Kindy Pupil-Free Day’s

Guppy’s Open and Here to Assist

Another day and another Government announcement around Covid-19. The Queensland Government announced today where all Schools will close from Monday 30th March 2020 (next week), as teachers move to pupil free days.

Kindy’s are also moving to pupil-free days next week, but Long daycare Centre’s (like Guppy’s Early Learning Centres) will be open, as normal. This also includes being able to provide care for your school-aged children, much like vacation care.

The health and safety of our parents, children and staff is always our top priority which means we already adhere to Government requirements of strict isolation and access to essential workers in our Early Learning Centres.

Again, we thank you for working with us. Also, if you have any questions or concerns about child care subsidies and concessions, our Centre directors are ready to help as follows:

  • Assist with understanding and applying Child Care Subsidy in respect of Absences (due to illness, precaution or otherwise)
  • We have various incentives, promotions and general flexibility around childcare days
  • Provision of ACCS (temporary financial hardship) to provide support to families experiencing reduced ability to pay child care fees, such as if the parent lost income due to Covid-19
  • The team is ready to help you navigate your childcare needs if your circumstance change

As always, we are here to help all families and are ready to assist families whose work arrangements are disrupted by this Government Directive and other elements due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus.

Warm Regards,

Andrew and Suzanna Parker Guppy’s Early Learning Centres
