Our Guppy’s Early Learning Centres provide educational programs and practice that are stimulating, engaging and enhance Children’s learning and development. At Guppy’s we aim to provide the facilities, resources and expanded learning experiences that meet the diverse range of abilities an interests of all children. To provide this to all of our families we have implemented the following practices into our Centre’s:
ChildCarers is an online programming tool specific to the childcare sector that allows parents to have access to important information (Daily Child updates and learning Journeys) about their children and their enrolling centre (policies, procedures and forms) at any time. Educators also can read notes left by parents helping parents and educators to communicate about their children’s education. All of our educators maintain individual children’s profiles which provide a record of children’s learning and development throughout their attendance at the Centre. This program also allows our educators to keep a monitored record of children’s learning’s and outcomes with many reporting capabilities.
The National Quality Framework (NQF)
Guppy’s Early Learning centre works with the National quality framework for Early Childhood Education and Care to help ensure your child is given the best possible start in life. For the first time, every state and territory in Australia is working to achieve the same quality outcomes for children, no matter where they live.
- greater individual care and attention for children
- better support for children’s learning and development
- educators with increased skills and qualifications
- improved educator to child ratios in most services
- a rating system of education and care services
Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program
Through our Kindergarten Program at Guppy’s Early Learning Centre your child will be offered a range of play based learning experiences to prepare them for the transition to school. Your child will also have the ability to expand their skills and have fun while learning in a safe and caring environment.
We offer specialised Kindergarten programs that reflect the Approved Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline for children who attend our Centres the year before they attend formal schooling. Our 4 year university qualified early childhood teachers have all undertaken extensive professional development in the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline and are well equipped to provide outstanding educational kindergarten programs informed by best practice. This ensures the children who attend Guppy’s Early Learning Centre develop the necessary knowledge, skills and dispositions to successfully enter formal schooling, and also develop a passion and love for life-long learning. We can guarantee that your child will be “school ready” after leaving our Centres.
Our Kindergarten programs offer the flexibility needed for today’s busy families with children able to attend long hours, 5 days a week and 52 weeks of the year. Our Kindergarten Teachers recognise the importance of engaging families in their early childhood programs, and are passionate about facilitating and maintaining partnerships with all families, including working families that require their children to attend long hours.
Guppy’s Early Learning Centre has a dedicated Head of Kindergarten coordinator that over sees the educational progress across our Guppy’s Early Learning Centre’s Kindergarten programs. Being an experienced Early Childhood education leader and a Bachelor qualified Early education teacher means that the kindergarten programs provided are in-depth and adapted to different avenues of learning.
We also encourage the use of the latest technology within our Kindergarten program and have installed interactive whiteboards at each location that not only engage but, help children to actively participate in their learning journey.
At Guppy’s we believe strongly in partnerships with families and the community. We invite and encourage our families and the greater community to participate in programs and contribute to decision making. Information regarding current practices within the service and the community is regularly made available to all families. Ideas and strategies are shared and feedback sought to effect continuous improvement within the service.

We carefully plan focused play-based and life like learning opportunities’ to children’s strengths, needs and interests. The early years learning framework guides educators in developing quality programs for children. It describes the early childhood pedagogy (principles and practice) and the outcomes required to support and enhance young children’s learning from the birth to five years of age, including their transition to school.
The framework for School age Care builds on the Early Years Learning Framework and extends to principles, practice and outcomes to accommodate the contexts and age range of the children and young people who attend school age care settings.
